We use the following mindsets, frameworks and tools in our work.
PMI – Project Management Professional
We use the world’s leading project management credential for the design, execution and evaluation of successful projects and programs.
We’ve built a powerful toolkit to help you enhance your capabilities, bring an idea to life, design unique products and services, and capture the features of your design to communicate to others.
We facilitate targeted processes developed by Stanford’s IDEO to design and execute a powerful business Blueprint that will create, capture and deliver value.
We use a set of innovation techniques and Stanford IDEO’s Business Strategy tools to guide you through a series of steps to create a winning strategy, to surface its essential components and to share it with others.
Investment Logic Mapping
We facilitate a potent technique that ensures robust discussion and thinking is done upfront; resulting in a sound problem definition and clear strategic opportunities – before solutions are identified and before any investment decision is made.
Lominger Leadership Architect
Developed by Korn Ferry, The Leadership Architect is a powerful competency-base framework to develop leaders and teams; and/or to align your business strategy with your talent strategy.
Selected past projects
Building Innovation Capabilities
When a New Zealand Ministry set a bold goal to double the country’s exports by 2025, they knew that enhancing their innovation capabilities would be key to realizing that goal.
As the Innovation Design Lead, Laura kicked off the initiative with the co-design and implementation of an enterprise-wide approach to operational and transformational innovation. Key thought leaders were then brought together to co-create a process to encourage idea generation, and to select and manage the best investments. We ran a competition for export double ideas, and then selected six of the highest value ideas to design, prototype and test in the real world. Big ideas – like national biosecurity, international market access, Maori agribusiness and innovating service delivery.
The project was such a success that Laura was asked to design a new service model for the Ministry. This included a permanent Service Design team that now delivers innovation design, capability development and thought leadership across the Ministry.
Training for the Future
When a Canadian non-profit organization is responsible for information exchange, practice standards and professional training; it is essential to keep an eye on the future.
In this collaborative action research project we reviewed professional snow sciences training and qualifications in Canada and co-created a set of recommendations for future development including innovative curricula, online and blended learning methodologies.
Innovation Master Class for Women Leaders
Just before Covid-19 changed our world forever, Laura facilitated a master class in Salt lake City, USA for women leaders in the outdoor recreation, education and adventure travel sector. Participants explored the challenges and opportunities they face using design thinking and then worked in groups to co-design tangible solutions to the topics that had the potential to transform the sector.
These leaders learned a set of innovation tools to take back to their organizations and communities; created a practical list for the sector to create, improve or change; and fostered new collaborations for the future.
